Pictures/Picturegoer

1911 – 1960

I grew up with The ‘Picturegoer’ in the 1950s, and for me it will always the title that I use, but in fact it had a number of different identities over 50 years, although for me it is still one magazine. The magazine is actually a fusion of two titles: ‘Pictures’ and ‘Picturegoer’, and from 1911 it went under 7 differing titles, sometimes as a stand alone, sometimes in tandem, and sometimes as a combination of two in one. I regard all its variations as one magazine, and will show how that came about in the following history.
